Use of maps[]
In the UK, map use has been completely transformed by the Internet. You will still wish to buy some maps, but your first stop will be the Sustrans bicycle routes map. Eg [1] is a portion of the route from a convenient car-park (Black Horse Road Station) direct to the site of the 2012 London Olympics. It's a very pleasant route already, and will get steadily more interesting in the months to come.
